In a series that looks at forensic crime history, we see how scientific crime techniques solved difficult cases. In Washington, a single carpet fiber helps microscopist Skip Palenik solve the murder of an Anchorage woman by her drug-dealing boyfriend. Palenik made forensic history for similar work in the Atlanta Child Murders. Then, a toolmark expert uses toolmark identification, that helped solve the Lindbergh baby kidnapping, to match a knife to markings on human ribs in a murder case.
