Christmas 2004
This year we celebrate the holidays from the library of our microscopist-collector.
A seasonal wreath and tree adorn the scene and allow us to enjoy the holidays as we work.
An extended substage assembly required a special modification on the large Watson petrographic microscope which was used to teach British petrography students in earlier times.
In the foreground Michel Levy’s and Forqué’s atlas and Teall’s British Petrography present colorful chromolithographs of classic thin sections.
Nearby slides containing thin sections of rocks and minerals include a sample from Egypt’s great pyramid – only a stone’s throw from the Holy Land.
